All this makes Bellavista and northwestern Ecuador an ideal destination for a rewarding and in-depth birding tour! From the Subtropics to the Tropics of Northwestern Ecuador
Note: This trip price is calculated to START IN BELLAVISTA, NOT in Quito!
This 3 day / 2 night option can be added onto / into a typical stay just at Bellavista Lodge, (or figured out on request as an extensión / combination to above packages) . This trip drops us way down in altitude from 7200 feet at Bellavista to under 500 feet at Laguna Cuve, all in northwestern Ecuador. The ever-changing landscapes, abundant birdlife, cascading waterfalls, and backroads travel for (most of) this trip, makes it rather special .. an adventure that spends one night at a prívate reserve where frog concerts accompany our evening, and another at a simple but very friendly, community-run hostel near Lake Cuve, where a night trip to see Caimans is offered (usually only offered in the Amazon!) Choice at Laguna Cuve of more birding or a visit to a cave full of harmless bats .. this latter quite an extreme challenge… We visit Mashpi Reserve, Silanche Reserve, and the Laguna Cuve National Protected Area: US$ 399 per person (2 pax or more) Includes IVA tax, and service, accompanying experienced Bellavista naturalist / birding guide.
